Microsoft Intune Update 2023

Microsoft in April 2022 announced its vision to deliver a bundled suite of advanced endpoint management solutions and started the rollout with Remote Help for Windows. In March 2023, Microsoft will introduce a new bundled plan that brings together Remote Help, Microsoft Tunnel for Mobile App Management, Endpoint Privilege Management, advanced endpoint analytics capabilities and more advanced management capabilities in Microsoft Intune. More detailed information about the included functionality can be found on this page.

New Microsoft Intune Licenses

On March 1, 2023, two new Intune licenses will be introduced: Intune Suite and Intune Plan 2. These licenses are available as add-ons to Intune Plan 1 licenses.

Intune Plan 1 (the current Intune offering) is available separately or as part of the EMS (Enterprise Mobility & Security) Suite, which in turn is part of Microsoft 365 E3, E5, F1 and F3.

The new Intune Suite offers the most comprehensive offering:

  • Remote Help
  • Endpoint Privilege Management
  • Tunnel for Mobile App Management
  • Management of specialty devices
  • Initial set of advanced endpoint analytics capabilities

And Microsoft expects to add a few more:

  • Third-party app catalog and automated app patching
  • Cloud certificate management
  • Multiple managed accounts on a single device
  • Future advanced capabilities

Intune Plan 2 includes a subset of the Suite’s capabilities:

  • Tunnel for Mobile App Management (MAM Tunnel).
  • Management of specialty devices
  • Future advanced capabilities

Pricing and exact licensing terms are not yet known. We will publish those as soon as they are announced.
