Nonprofit: Then you’ll soon be paying more for your Microsoft products

Very sympathetic of the American tech giant Microsoft; for years non-profit organizations have been paying much less for various cloud-based products, such as Office 365. This saves up to €10 per user per month compared to the regular rates. Unfortunately, the non-profit rates are going to increase significantly. How much? And can you possibly avoid it? Let’s dive in.

As of September, organizations are going to pay more. That’s true for new contracts with fixed terms entered into then, but also for organizations with flexible licensing agreements. These kinds of agreements are exactly that: flexible. The number of users can be adjusted every month, which is nice. The disadvantage is that the price increase in this agreement can be implemented immediately. Many non-profit organizations have such an agreement and therefore immediately pay the increased rates as of September.

What kind of increase is involved?

On average, prices will increase by more than 10 percent. Below are the announced rate increases in %:

  • Office 365 E1 +25%
  • Office 365 E3 +27.5%
  • Office 365 E5 +8.5%
  • Microsoft 365 E3  +12.5%
  • Microsoft 365 Business Premium (for SMBs) +10%

Equal prices remain for Microsoft 365 E5 and Microsoft 365 Business Standard subscriptions and so-called F subscriptions for firstline workers.
